More than 40 years ago, a visionary leader, our Chairman, Michael Martella founded MARCOA Publishing, Inc. He began as the contracted publisher for several small military installations in California. His passion for the development of a quality product continues to this day and extends to recruiting and supporting the best sales personnel. The drive and determination of the MARCOA sales organization has enabled our expansion into innovative new products and services designed to meet the needs of a rapidly changing market.

MARCOA is a leading American publishing organization dedicated to excellence in advertising supported specialty publications. Over our 40-year history we have achieved a dominant market share in military base guides and maps, newcomer guides, industry-specific guides, and private residential telephone directories. We take pride in being one of the largest third-party contract publisher in the nation.

Corporate Information

Our national headquarters and production facility houses more than 90 professionals, each with specialized skills and decades of experience in all facets of the publishing industry. MARCOA's state-of-the-art building was designed and constructed to optimize our entire publishing operation. We maintain a cutting-edge in-house printing plant, an innovative graphic arts design studio, in-house video conferencing, and world-class offices.

A team of editors, writers, photographers, graphic designers, cartographers and quality control specialists leads our production operations. State-of-the-art computer hardware and software resources support the team. All publications are laid out in a 100% digital format. Upon completion, these digital files are converted using the latest technology with our in-house CTP (computer-to-plate) department where plates are generated for the presses.

Highly skilled and experienced press operators, who maintain the highest standards of print quality, run our in-house printing department. Our "sheet fed" 40" Heidelberg four-color presses set the benchmark for quality in all our publications.

Our accounting and billing department ensures that all advertising contracts are processed in a timely and accurate manner. MARCOA treats every individual sales contract, regardless of size, as an important part of our customer's sales and marketing strategy. This is why so many of our customers renew year-after-year.

Our military marketing, acquisitions, and contracting department maintains a full customer history on all of our past, present, and future clients. All contract documentation, from the original bid package to option renewals, are handled in accordance with current Department of Defense instructions, appropriate military directives, and all other federal and state contracting requirements.

Our advertising sales specialists and sales managers are strategically located throughout the nation. Our headquarters house our sales directors, marketing team, and sales and customer support services.

Our recruitment and sales training specialists are committed to the principles of continuous improvement in all facets of our sales organization.

With all of our key resources housed under one roof, we are able to closely monitor each and every project and maintain the highest levels of workflow, quality control, and efficiency.
